Isn’t it fascinating to think that when you witness
the light from that star, you’re looking at light as
photons or particles (both) that have been
moving towards Earth and to us for close to the
period you’ve been alive, or in some cases since
the time you were conceived?
For the entire span of your life, that light has
traversed the vast and incomprehensible
distance at incredible speed and now falls upon
your eyes! Understanding such a thing can help
put life and time into some perspective.
This can be a fun thing to share with some
people. It’s a cheap thrill, doesn’t cost but a little
time, and can turn out to be among the coolest
birthday wishes and presents one can give or
recieve.
